What causes Arthrogryposis?

There are several reasons why Arthrogryposis develops in the womb;

  • abnormalities of the connective tissue
  • limitation of space /restrictive movement
  • muscles fail to form or function in the womb
  • maternal illness
  • neurological deficit caused by absent or malfunctioning nerves
