What are 'atonic seizures'?
- During these seizures a student will suddenly fall to the ground, and can at times be mistaken for a student tripping up or poor balance.
- Sometimes a student won't fall completely but will 'nod' their head.
- These seizures can increase in frequency.
- Sometimes a student may hurt their head when they fall, and can be given a helmet to wear to protect their head.
