My Normal Childhood with Cerebral Palsy- Katherine’s Story

Resource type: Videos  —  Date posted: November 25th, 2014   Number of views: 2944

Children and young people with cerebral palsy can sometimes feel isolated, different, left out, angry and not understood.

Scope's youth group started in late 2009 because our helpline team (Scope Response) were receiving lots of inquiries from parents and carers about children and young people feeling just that.

In this film, one of their members, Katherine explains that because of her impairment she sometimes has to do certain things differently, or use particular equipment, but that in every other respect she is just like anyone else. She talks about some of the things she enjoys in her life, and one of these is wheelchair basketball.
